WHAT DOES A MEDICAL SPA WEBSITE REALLY COST?
Real Answers from 50+ Medspa Owners One of the most common questions in our medical spa owners community is simple but loaded with complexity: "How much should I spend on a website?"
Last week, Chelsea Williams asked exactly that and the community responded with 98 honest answers that reveal the true state of medspa website investment in 2026.
The Price Range Reality The responses ranged from $0 to over $20,000, but there's a clear pattern emerging:
Budget-Friendly Options ($0-$2,000)
Several owners built their own websites using free tools like B12 and ChatGPT
Fiverr specialists delivered websites for just a couple hundred dollars
Squarespace DIY with basic domain costs around $150-$200 annually
Platform solutions like Moxie include website building with their all-in-one system
The Sweet Spot ($1,500-$5,000) Renee Blackwelder nailed the consensus: "$1,800-$2,500 is standard." This range appeared repeatedly across the community and represents quality builds with professional branding.
Specific examples from community members:
$1,500 with branding (Jordan Higgin)
$1,700 for basic with branding (Des Marie)
$2,000 with maintenance at $150/month (Vanessa Parker)
$3,000-$3,500 (Katie Davis, Angie Hayes, Jessica Fortine)
$5,000 with branding included (Lynda Marovich, Mandie Eagan)
Premium Builds ($8,000-$20,000+)
Ashley Bruno: $8,000
Crystal Surmanian: $10,000
Amish Oza: $10,000
Robin Hays Velez: $3,000-$5,000 range
Jennifer Rushing: over $20,000 (but had to redo it themselves)
What You're Actually Paying For Philip Lee Hewitson (group admin), broke it down perfectly:
For Beginners: Basic platforms like GHL (Go High Level) or WordPress with some local SEO can be effective and cost-conscious, which aligns with most medspa owners' needs.
For Established Practices: Once you're running and want better results, budget a minimum of $500/month for ongoing support and optimization.
Critical Lessons from the Community
Complexity Drives Cost Leda Marie advised that average costs run $3-5k with minimal maintenance unless you're using Shopify with complex product swaps and ongoing SEO optimization.
Watch Out for Scams
This came up multiple times: (just do some research before paying out large sums or signing up for long contracts)
One owner was scammed and paid $3,500/month for SEO for 2 years before realizing the value wasn't there
Jennifer Rushing spent $20k and still had to take over and rebuild it herself
SEO Costs Are Separate Mandie Eagan recommended finding "a reputable source" for website design who also handles monthly SEO ($5k initial + ongoing monthly).
Maintenance Matters Renee Blackwelder's comment about "minimal maintenance unless you do Shopify and swap out product offerings" is crucial. Your website cost doesn't end at launch.
The DIY Movement Is Real Several community members successfully built their own:
Vera Mac: "$0 I made my own"
Tiffany Roysden: "$200 per year (self-managed)"
Christine Robinson: ~$150 for Squarespace domain only
However, this requires time investment and some technical knowledge, not always realistic for busy practice owners.
Our Recommendation for Your Practice Based on this community consensus:
If you're starting: Plan for $1,500-$2,500. This gives you a professional site without breaking the bank. Try a DIY option like Go High Level it has a drag and drop builder thats easy to use.
If you're established: Expect $3,000-$5,000 for quality design with branding. Add $500-$1,500/month for ongoing SEO and maintenance.
Always ask: Does your website builder also handle ongoing SEO? Are updates and maintenance included?
Avoid the $20k trap: Premium doesn't always mean better. One owner spent $20k and still had to rebuild it themselves. Focus on value, not price tags.
What's YOUR experience? Have you invested in a website? What worked and what didn't? The best advice comes from practitioners like you who've navigated these decisions.
